Success Limiters

Hey Reader,

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about success. So, I wanted to write a piece that might be helpful to you. Let's dive in.

The level of our success will always be limited by two things:

•Skills
•Beliefs

Not having empowering beliefs about ourselves will be the single most growth-limiting factor in our lives.

Your beliefs about your worthiness to succeed:

If you don’t think you are worthy of success, you will not move towards success in your life.

If that’s one of your bottlenecks, here is a simple exercise you can do:

➊ Write down what you want. Make this as specific as you can.
➋ List all the reasons you don’t deserve that success.
➌ Nope, you’re not going to list all the reasons you deserve it. Just the reasons you don’t. There is no step 3 here. Only two steps.

Now, split the list (➋) with all the reasons why don't deserve success into two.

​First half:

I don’t deserve it because I don’t have the skills yet. This is a perfect, workable list.
​
You can use this later to
•Identify the skill-gap you have
•Make a plan to bridge that gap
•Start working towards building that skill-gap

​Second half:

Everything else. We will work with this list for the rest of this exercise.

Next, use every reason under your final list and rate whether your person deserves success in their life or not.

Did these reasons hold water? No? What happened?
​
​You just learned a powerful lesson in self-love. Self-love is not an intangible, esoteric concept. This is how it becomes practical in your life.

Love yourself the way you love your dearest ones. Start there. Then your capacity to love yourself will naturally expand.

The questions to keep asking this week:

•What do I believe is possible for me?
•What do I allow myself to dream of?
•What level of success do I think I deserve?

Anything that doesn’t point to an actual skill-gap has gotta go!
